The Alter World of Zach Bealer

Capable of seeing an alternate world that parallels our own, Zach Bealer is at a loss. With no instruction and no explanation, his only option is to destroy the creatures that only he can see before they kill him. Someday he may figure it out, but until then, all he can do is keep a record of his "world saving" techniques and just try to stay sane.

Both Shoulders

Many of us wish the tough decisions could just be made for us. Little do we know, this may be true. Enter Kyle, a demon, and Archer, an angel, whose job it is to influence the choices of humans. But for Kyle, their most recent job gets more complicated when a man's final choice may result in the death of someone close to him.

.

Dead Weight

On the surface, 22-year-old Carson may appear to be nothing but a humble appliance store manager, but below this façade is a much darker truth: he hires himself out to dispose of dead bodies. The two sides of Carson's personalities finally collide on the worst night imaginable; the night he must give an in depth interview to the girl he has a crush on.

.

Peeved

Everybody has at least one pet peeve. Willard Foster has five hundred. Forced to join an anger managment seminar, Will has no choice but to attempt acceptable behavior. This proves to be more diffucult than expected when his team "leader" is a little on the annoying side.

.

The Modifier

When aspiring journalist Ryan Hall conducts his final interview on a paper about domestic murder at a mental hospital, he gets more than he expected. The man he's interviewing not only claims to have killed his girlfriend when all evidence proves he didn't, but he explains to Ryan that he has the ability to change the world simply by watching it happen.

.

Life in Neutral

Meet Scott Acumen, a young man who isn’t certain which of his two lives he prefers. In one life he can battle teddybears, jump incredible distances, and hunt buffalo; while his other offers self help groups, loneliness, and an increasing fear of the citizens of  his home town. But his routine shifts when he has a chance to connect with the girl he loves.

.

Mythbusters Spoof

This film was created for the "Spoof Discovery Channel" special. We didn't end up winning (probably due to a misunderstanding as to what was or wasn't a cgi cat) but it still answers the ultimate question: Will a piece of buttered toast attached to the back of a cat rip a hole in the space time continuum? (Seriously though, no animals were harmed)

Coming 2010

Band Movie: Title Goes Here

For those band geeks out there, or not. This year long project chronicles Harum's senior year in band. For those of you not into epic band events enjoy the epic spoof on The Lord of the Rings and the superheroic dual life that a band member lives: Half the time a mild mannered man, the other half, a mild mannered man in a band uniform.

.

Why You Need a Bomb Shelter

Created during Junior year, this project was a spoof on an original infomercial made during the ninteen fifties. We enjoyed taking all the infomercial's key components: Duck and Cover (even when stranded in the middle of the street), have a creepy narrator appear out of nowhere, and always turn life long friends against each other.

.

Penguins

Harum's first animated feature, and most likely last. This project took three months to complete and it took half that time simply rendering. The short tells the tale of two penguins whose simple day is turned upside down when they strive for the attention of a female.

.

"Close-lined"

Created for a "prevent underage drinking" competition, this project was intended simply as a blueprint/previsual, if the idea for the commercial won, the company was going to fund a bigger budget version of the same concept. It didn't win, but still provides a good "odd" point.

.

Madmen 2: Ultimate Destruction

Takes the concept of spoof to an entirely odd level. Established during a Solo/Ensemble competition, Madmen 2 soon became an overnight phenomenon, performing for two straight years at most high school events and occasionally making stops at carnivals and a Screamo concert that we didn't really belong in.

.

The RINO-7 Trilogy

These films were created for Harum's Junior History class (excluding the third, which was created for a mythology class). These films were basically an experimental breeding ground for special effects practice and working on a deadline (these films were all written, filmed and edited within a five day period, hence their somewhat "crappy" but funny appearance.

Rino-7:1 was a report on President Woodrow Wilson and spoofed the popular films at the time: The Matrix Trilogy, and Harry Potter

RINO-7:2 was a report on the battle of the bulge, being the sequel, there was more time spent on what the class called "oddness."

RINO-7:3 was a report on mythological references found in, of course: The Matrix Trilogy. More info, less "oddness", some Wolverine claws, and a new co-anchor that has a very similar personality to Harry.

.

Blank

No memory. No past. Just a name. A psychological/action film proving than split personalities can get confusing; especially when you don't realize you have one and events seem to blank from one moment to the next. This film was created as an experiment in action, effects, and good old pure simple philosphical reasoning.

.

Music Video

Created for Harum's junior year. This film was basically an excuse to run around school for a couple days dressed as death and jumping out to scare people. The project was supposed to "Protest something" so we thought, why not death? That feeble skeleton that never dies. For us it was just another excuse to mess around with some very strange effects.

.

Julius Ceasar

Created for Harum's Sophomore English class. The project: recreate two acts from the play "Julius Caesar." Of course we went with the most blood filled and had a hell of a time trying to complete the damn thing in a little under five days. It's also a prime example of just how much Harum enjoyed cloning himself. He ends up being everyone in the red army.

.

Indiana Jones Fan Film

Who doesn't love Indiana Jones? This project was created simply because we wanted to make it. Sure it's campy and the writings a little on the cheesy side, but what it lacks in story we tried to make up for in as much action as we could possibly cram in. And who says there's no such thing as unlimited supply of cloned midget henchman?

.

A Life of Revenge

Created at the same time as Penguins, this film was meant to tell an entire story in three minutes. Of course, there was large portions of this film left out, but the general idea was there. This film was nearly forgotten, due to people's interest in the other.

.

German Films

A series of films made for Harum's fourth year German class. Once again, these were filmed, created, and written within a week's worth of time, making them somewhat strange. For those of you who don't understand German the link on the left will show you the "Evil Snuggles" commercial, that has subtitles added. Just another one of those "odd" things.

Niebelungenlied

For those of you unfamiliar with the epic tale of the Niebelungen, let me just quickly sum up: Siegfried the hero becomes king until his death by easily predicted means. This is somewhat of a parody, poking fun at the story in strange ways. Several classmates wrote the seperate scenes to this. Watch closely and see if you can tell what two scenes Harum wrote.

Nachrichtung um 7 Uhr

News at seven. After creating the Niebelungen, the class decided to combine efforts for the next project. Once again, seperate scenes were written by seperate people, but most of it was written by Harum. The basic idea here was that this news show was a sister station to RINO-7, only this one was based in Germany.

.

Celebrity Zeopardy

Not the first, but definately the earliest film project Harum is willing to share. Anything made before this point is to embarrasing to even consider posting. After begging Harum to create this thing for the "Freshman Talent Show", they didn't show it due to technical difficulties. It's a funny look into what was, compared to what is.

.

P-10 Project

A good cause. This video isn't posted for entertainment value but rather a look into a project that still has the chance to take off. (It's also somewhat entertaining to see Harum try and pull of something serious.)
